Here are some additional things that you may want to keep in mind as you put together winter car kits:

• Accounting for all of your vehicles – You may want to have a separate kit for each of your cars. That way, you won’t forget to load your vehicle with a kit if you are in a hurry to get out of the house.
• Updating winter car kits – If you have winter car kits from last year, make sure to go through them carefully before you put them in your vehicles and rely on them. The reason that this is so important is that items can expire, be removed, be broken or otherwise become unusable over time. Going through these kits and making sure that everything in them works/is up to date can ensure that you have what you need if you are stranded on the road this winter.
• Storing winter car kits – Although your vehicle’s trunk may have plenty of room to keep your winter car kit, make sure that your car allows you to access the trunk from inside of the cab. The reason that this is important is that, during the wintertime, it’s not uncommon for the trunks of cars to freeze shut. If your winter kit is in your frozen-shut trunk (and you have no trunk access from the cab of your car), you likely won’t be able to access your winter kit, making it completely useless.So, make sure you store your winter car kit in a place where you can access it easily and immediately when you may need it. You may even consider storing your kit in multiple bins or in flatter bins if you need to keep it in the cab of your vehicle.
